Mahjong Classes Series Draws Strong Community Interest
A three-week series of Mahjong classes kicked off on Friday, June 13th, attracting a full house of enthusiastic participants. The first session reached capacity quickly, with a waiting list established due to high demand.
Sue, a passionate Mahjong player, along with two of her friends, generously volunteered their time and expertise to lead the classes. Their commitment to sharing the game has sparked great interest within the community, offering residents an engaging opportunity to learn and enjoy this classic tile-based game.
Classes are held at Memorial Hall from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. each Friday. The series will continue over the next two weeks, providing attendees with a chance to develop their skills and connect with fellow players.

All city offices and the taxi service will be closed on Monday, May 26th in observance of Memorial Day.
**All city trash routes through Republic Services will be picked up a day later than usual.**

Carthage city offices will be closed the remainder of the day due to the potential for inclement weather.
The Taxi Service will be unavailable on Wednesday, March 21st due to training. Regular operations will resume on Thursday, March 22nd. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.

Mosquito Spraying Alert – May 19–23
The City of Carthage will be spraying for mosquitoes Monday through Friday, May 19th–23rd. Spraying will occur in the evening between 8:00 p.m. and midnight on your regular trash pickup day.
Residents are encouraged to turn off attic or window fans when the sprayer is in the immediate area.
In case of rain, spraying will be rescheduled and completed sometime during the following week.
