30-Day Public Notice of Proposed Street Naming
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 6-435 of the Carthage City Code, the City of Carthage is proposing to assign new street names within Municipal Park as follows:
Proposed Street Name: Fairway Drive
Location: Parcel ID 14300500000020000 – 2nd left turn off of Richard Webster Drive, Runs North to South, from Richard Webster Drive South between the Steadley Beef Barn #7 and the Chitwood Barn, then curves Southeast until the intersection with Budlong and Robert Ellis Young Drive
Purpose: These roads are used during the rodeo and Jasper County Youth Fair, naming the streets will help with emergency operations and for identifying roads that are requested to be closed during the events
Proposed Street Name: Livestock Drive
Location: Parcel ID 14300500000020000 – 1st left turn off of Richard Webster Drive, Runs North to South, from Richard Webster Drive South and curves Southeast at intersection prior to the playground and intersects with Robert Ellis Young Drive
Purpose: These roads are used during the rodeo and Jasper County Youth Fair, naming the streets will help with emergency operations and for identifying roads that are requested to be closed during the events
Proposed Street Name: Exhibitor Lane
Location: Parcel ID 14300500000020000 -- located South of the Chitwood Barn, runs East to West from Fairway Drive to Livestock Drive
Purpose: These roads are used during the rodeo and Jasper County Youth Fair, naming the streets will help with emergency operations and for identifying roads that are requested to be closed during the events
Proposed Street Name: Clover Lane
Location: Parcel ID 14300500000020000 – Runs East to West between Fairway Drive and Livestock Drive, South of the Race Brother Pavilion #8 and North of 4-H Concession Stand
Purpose: These roads are used during the rodeo and Jasper County Youth Fair, naming the streets will help with emergency operations and for identifying roads that are requested to be closed during the events
This notice serves as a formal announcement to inform the public and allow for comments or objections regarding the proposed street naming.
Public Comment Period
The public comment period will remain open for 30 days from the date of this notice.
Deadline for Public Comments: September 25, 2025

In Person: Public Services Meeting on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 5:30 pm
All comments will be reviewed by the Public Services Committee prior to going before the City Council for final decision-making.
