Public Works Director Josiah Bayless has shared an update on the Downtown Square Sidewalks & Streetscaping Restoration Project. The anticipated completion date is now September 9, 2025.
Crews are currently replacing the sidewalks on the southwest corners and placing crosswalks, starting on the exterior and moving inward to complete the interior crosswalks. They have continued progress despite challenging weather conditions, working through both heavy rain and extreme heat. Grates have been ordered to cover openings following a change to the original design, and landscaping areas will soon be filled.
We appreciate the community’s patience as we work to complete these improvements to our downtown. Please continue to use caution when entering the square while work is in progress.
