The Carthage Fire Department is proud to announce a series of leadership promotions that reflect the exceptional service, professionalism, and dedication of its personnel. These advancements span multiple ranks and showcase the department’s continued commitment to public safety, community engagement, and operational excellence.
“We are honored to recognize the hard work and leadership of these individuals,” said Fire Chief Jason Martin. “Each of them has demonstrated not only a deep commitment to the fire service, but also to the citizens of Carthage. These promotions strengthen our department and prepare us for the future.”
Captain Promotions
Three promoted to the rank of Captain:
Brady Gerstner, a Carthage native who joined the CFD in 2011 and is known for his reliability and strong work ethic.
Josh Estes, also from Carthage, began in 2009 and is a dedicated team member with proven leadership.
Mat Fasano, who joined in 2012, brings a decade of experience and operational strength to his new role.
Lieutenant Promotions
Two engineers have earned promotion to Lieutenant:
Brett Henson, a Carthage native and CFD member since 2017, is recognized for his dependability and leadership potential.
Landon Osborn, who has served since 2017, consistently demonstrates integrity, commitment, and growth.
Engineer Promotions
The department has also promoted three individuals to the rank of Engineer, an operational role critical to apparatus operation and incident response:
Richard Williams, who joined in 2021, has quickly earned a reputation for reliability and technical skill.
Brian Nixon, a Carthage native, followed in the footsteps of his father, Tom Nixon, when he joined the department in 2022.
Oscar Salas, also from Carthage, began in 2021 and is known for his work ethic, professionalism, and team-oriented mindset.
